Are you a Hugger?

I'm a hugger...I admit it! 💕 I love sharing and connecting with people...I just can't help it! I know it's not for everyone...I do try to be respectful of peoples' personal boundaries and customs...but sometimes a girls just gotta hug!

Yesterday, I was blown away when I was thanking one of my work colleagues for the great year we've had working together. As he was a male, I thought a handshake was appropriate. We have known each other for years and I consider him a friend. As we were shaking hands and wishing each other a merry Christmas, he said ..it feels like we should hug...and we did!❣️

As we pulled away from each other, we both had a bit of the misty eyed thing going on! That connection was such a special moment.💕🙏

Hugging has so many benefits...

1. Stimulates Oxytocin - promotes contentment

2. Cultivates Patience - appreciative of one another

3. Prevents Disease - via stress reduction

4. Stimulates Thymus Gland - strengthens the immune system

5. Communication Without Saying a Word - body language speaks volumes

6. Boosts Self-Esteem - connects to feelings of self worth when cuddled as children

7. Stimulates Dopamine - stimulates that feel-good feeling

8. Stimulates Serotonin - elevates mood and happiness

9. Parasympathetic Balance - balances out the nervous system, restoring calm.

When I visit my Mum today, I'm going to give her lots of long hugs to help increase the Dopamine she is in such short supply of, due to her Parkinson's condition.❤️

Get hugging, people! The world needs more hugs!😍
